Break a Weight Loss Plateau? The Way I Accomplished It Against All Odds

By Nancy Harnell

Have you at any time tried to break weight loss plateau that seemed every bit beyond the bounds of possibility to overcome? This was me, even though I used to be able to drop extra fat as soon as I put a halt to eating wildly on the Holiday crap. But now it was July, and I was still pushing 150.

Well, I'm glad I'm still in good condition, I thought. I pride myself in this because I had not been sick in the past three years. But then I became sick on the 4th of July, and, that was my turn around point. You know, the way the cosmos will sometimes just "talk" to you.. and tell you it is time for a change in your life?

Then I began analyzing my style of living. Well, it is confirmed I did however like my low fat ice cream before bed.., but I was able to do that last year... why not now? There are a few things that you just don't want to give up no matter what! No wonder I experienced so much difficulty breaking a weight loss plateau!

Furthermore, I remember I used to be devout about taking antioxidants, but I had fallen in another direction from that. Hence that is what provoked me to go online and figure out what I could begin to do about this uncooperative body of mine.

This is that which I found out relating to why I could not break a weight loss plateau...

As it turned out, I found out that I wasn't eating enough protein. Furthermore, believe it or not, I as well wasn't eating often enough! My habitual daily intake of food consisted of yogurt and berries in the morning, nuts mid-morning, and a high carb fruit for midday meal.

By evening meal, of course, I was craving, so I often ate greater than I needed to have unconsciously. I do not do cooking, so those "low calorie" microwave meals were invariably that which I preferred... however they are mostly carbohydrates! And the worst thing is, they do not keep you satisfied. So that "little tiny meal" of low fat ice cream turned into a few trips to the icebox. It seemed time to be honest with my own habits.

The procedure to break a weight loss plateau...

Hence I was determined to plunge into a "24-Day Challenge" that started out with a 10-day cleanse. The cleanse was a little difficultat first; nevertheless, compared to most cleanses I have Tried, it was quite mild, with permissible guacamole, peanut butter, nuts, and lean meats.

Furthermore, the thing that sticks in my mind mostly is I was not hungry. Not even through the cleanse. Between the fiber drink and each of the protein snacks I was instructed to take, I actually was not hungry at all when the time came to go shopping for food after work.

Nevertheless oh, wait till you hear about my challenges!

You would think my husband did not desire me to break a weight loss plateau. It all came down at once, just as soon as I was determined to keep completely to the plan. Initial, he had to call and declare WITH GLEE that his mother just unloaded a boat load of baked good and crap that she did not prefer in her house. "Furthermore the cookies are your favorite" he says... and that was my initial day on the cleanse. (LOL)

You would envision that would be enough, but then I went to the grocery to do my Friday night buying for the week, all geared up to get myself a great spinach salad with olive oil, vinegar, and sunflower seeds. So Joel puts in his "request" of what he desires me to get for him. Yep, that's correct, fried chicken! My all-time best-loved food that he Never wanted to eat before! However this evening, the foremost evening of my cleanse, what did he want? The check out clerk was empathetic and said to me, "well, possibly he'll choke on a bone"!

Regardless of all those challenges to break a weight loss plateau...

As a matter of fact, I wasn't even hungry when I went food shopping and purchased the chicken. I had to remind myself that, with my established poor habits and no aid from the goods I was taking, there would have been no controlling myself, as my usual course is to run for the eatery when I first get to market on account of I'm so hungry!

And amazing thing, the meal replacement milkshakes that I believed I did not even prefer in the beginning are today a relished part of my day! I enjoy having a chocolate "milkshake" (with no milk) for first meal of the day!

My kid who is a vegan kept poking fun at me on account of the "cleanse" has so much meat in it... lean, naturally, but lots of it. Furthermore, my favorites permitted even on the 10 day cleanse - organic peanut butter and toasted nuts! I enjoy how the almonds keep me so comfortably full, and the peanut butter completely took away my tempt for sweets.

Then how much weight did I drop to break weight loss plateau?

The cleanse truly shot me off in the perfect direction, because I lost 5 pounds in the initial three days! Naturally, then I hit the plateau. But that stubborn scale beyond any doubt moved down after a few more days, and I dropped a total of 9 pounds in 24 days - all with consuming 6 times a day every day! This proves to me that eating the right foods more frequently is the trick to weight management.
