The gorgeous environment of the Great Smoky Mountains is best experienced with a White Water Rafting trip on the Pigeon River. The start of rafting season usually begins in March and ends in November depending on the weather. However some tour companies will raft in the winter months. The Pigeon River is only guaranteed to run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from May through Labor Day due to the water flow being dam controlled.
